Harley 883 For Sale - Things To Consider

by A R Thompson

Often actually owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle can be just too expensive especially when considering buying them brand new. However if you choose to go the other route of owning a Harley Davidson 883 motorcycle by buying a pre owned one then there are certain factors that need to be taken into consideration. Below we take a look at the factors and what to look for when you see a Harley 883 for sale.

1. If you are able to take a careful look at the state of the vehicle. So if you are able to spend time carefully looking the bike over, as the condition it is in can tell you a lot about how well it has been maintained and cared for. Look for any scratches or dents to the machine.

Plus if you can ask the owner of the machine to get the engine running so that you can hear what it sounds like. Also, arrange with them to take it for a test ride so you can get a feel for the machine and this will also help to show if there are any major mechanical problems with it.

2. Along with looking at the condition of the machine you need to ask the seller to provide you with any history for the motorcycle. A good seller will often be able to quickly provide the bikes service history and log book, but if they can not or will not then walk away from the deal immediately.

Plus a seller who is able to show proof of ownership as well as how the bike has been looked after is someone who cares about their machines. In many cases with people like these, you know that the bike will have been well cared for and there are unlikely to be any major mechanical issues with it.

3. When every considering buying a used Harley 883 it is suitable that you do as much research as possible before you phone the seller or place a bid at the auction site. You need to spend comparing the costs of new and used ones against the bike you may want to buy. Doing this can often help with negotiating a far better price with the seller when you do go to buy it.

As well as comparing bikes that are manufactured in the same year as the one you wish to buy. You should also spend time comparing newer and older models that are of the same condition or have the same amount of mileage on the clock. All these can seriously affect the price that you could end up paying for the Harley Davidson 883 that you wish to buy.

If you keep the above in mind when it comes to thinking about buying a Harley 883 for sale that you have seen you may well end up finding yourself saving money. Simply because you are actually able to negotiate the seller down to a price that is more reasonable, rather than what they think it should be sold for.

The Chopper: A Brief History

by Fabian Toulouse

A chopper is a type of motorcycle that became popular after World War II. Motorcycles are assembled with an array of parts, including the rather conservative fender. After World War II, veterans came home and decided to strip down their bikes to make them easier to ride. Aping their military motorcycles, the vets were eager to make their civilian bikes capable of racing in rough terrain. A typical civilian bike was unnecessarily laden with unneeded parts and accessories.

The vets cut off fenders, turn indicators, front breaks, and spring suspended saddles. The tires, headlights, and fuel tanks were all replaced with smaller and lighter options to reduce the weight of their bikes. The resultant bike was referred to as a chopped up motorcycle, that is, a chopper. These choppers became so well-liked, motorcycle manufacturers began to build chopper versions of popular models.

The traditional choppers were for riders looking for excitement on rough terrain. The modern versions, however, have been equipped with the very parts that the vets were eager to chop off. The emphasis on weight also seems to be a thing of the past as modern choppers seldom, if ever, ride on anything other than asphalt. From the rough and tumble to the corporate poser.

The chopper was never intended to be aesthetically pleasing. A proper chopper had its rake and trail, the axis where the forks and the wheel join, modified, creating that long, inclined look that is distinctive to the chopper. That look can also be a major cause for a number of accidents. The chopper is known as a difficult bike to ride, as most new riders are unaccustomed to the change of the rake and trail. Any rider who is not experienced could hurt themselves.

Before you have the misfortune of getting into a motorcycle accident, make sure your insurance is up to date. A customized bike, like a chopper, is not always covered by insurance companies, even companies that insure typical motorcycles. If your chopper takes a dive, make sure you consult qualified motorcycle accident lawyers who will work with you to get results. Until then, get your motor running!

Riding the Streets of Los Angeles

by Fabian Toulouse

Gas prices being what they are, a great many people are choosing motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, and other two-wheeled bikes for transportation. The number of new motorcycle sales in this country is growing yearly, and so is the number of accidents. If you ride in California, you should realize that the traffic accident statistics among motorcyclists are high in that state, and Los Angeles has by far the worst record.

City driving is challenging for motorcyclists anywhere, but Los Angeles is notorious, and the odds are without a doubt stacked against the biker. Just the makeup of the motorcycle itself offers several contributing factors in wrecks: motorcycles attain high speeds; they are far less visible than trucks or cars; and they offer negligible protection in the event of a crash.

Add to that the myriad distractions to drivers in a city like Los Angeles and it does not take a brain surgeon to predict the results. Signs, thousands of clueless sightseers, and bright advertisements everywhere are bad enough. Throw in a cell phone and an ipod or MP3 player and you have a recipe for misfortune to any motorcyclist who crosses these drivers’ paths! Even the most careful motorcyclist takes his life in his hands in Los Angeles!

If you have had the bad fortune to be in a wreck, do not be hesitant to call a Los Angeles motorcycle accident attorney. A lawyer can assist you in getting full restitution for everything to which you are entitled after an accident. If you try to manage your own case, often by the time the tedious process wears you down (or that injury you thought you did not sustain shows itself weeks or months later) it may be too late to file.

It never hurts to discuss your case with a lawyer after an accident. Free consultation is just that: free. When you find out that hiring a motorcycle lawyer means you have better odds of receiving a much higher settlement and that you would be relieved of all the work of handling your own case, why would you do anything else?

Motorcycle Law and Easy Rider

by Fabian Toulouse

If you are a motorcycle lover, Easy Rider, made in 1969, is a must see. Indeed, it’s required viewing. It’s not so much an action movie as a piece of history. The plot starts with Wyatt (played by Peter Fonda) and Billy (played by Dennis Hopper) riding their way to Mardi Gras. During this drive they encounter hitchhikers, a drunken lawyer (played famously by Jack Nicholson), some jail time, and ultimately the great unknown.

They are traveling from Southern California where they sell drugs to get money to fund the ride to Mardi Gras. The money is placed in their gas tanks as they set off across the United States. Regrettably, along the way they have a number of trials. The two men are arrested on the basis that they didn’t have a permit to ride in the parade. In other parts of the story they are verbally abused and threatened by officers of the law and local communities. Their ride was meant to be a testament to freedom, despite the resistance of the status quo.

At one dramatic point, a truck almost runs them off the road. Running from the cops, a bust, and shotguns, it is easy to dismiss as pure fiction. However, there are real riders in the world today that need help. Bikers are like everyone else - sometimes they need some help to get them out of a scrape.

Motorcycle law, as it happens, is a specialization in legal jurisprudence. In the film, when they are initially arrested they had no lawyer to help bail them out of jail. As the story progresses, you can see every instance where some kind of legal assistance would have helped, not withstanding a spaced-out and full-forced Jack Nicholson.

Currently, a motorcycle lawyer can help regain any money lost in settlements. Better yet, they can help secure substantial settlements from insurance companies and careless drivers alike. In 1969 motorcycles were seen as agents of evil; today the stigma still applies, unfortunately. A great deal of discrimination is still evident even from the courts. Just one screening and its easy to see how a little legal help could have help Wyatt and Billy avoid a number of pitfalls. Better yet, a lawyer versed in motorcycle law could have had our heroes out on the road, cruising, continuing the search for the American dream.

California Motorcycle Accident Lawyer: Wins Settlements

by Fabian Toulouse

Every state has different regulations for motorcycles. Some states have ways of coming up with partial responsibility for accidents, others do not. Some mandate helmets while others leave the choice up to riders. Equipment maintenance and inspection laws vary, as well. No matter where you are, in the event of a motorcycle accident it is worthwhile to seek out a lawyer who specializes in motorcycle statutes.

While some accident victims try to wade through the sea of red tape on their own, it is not always the best course of action following an accident. For one thing, there is a limit to the time in which you can file a claim, and if you miss it, that is just too bad. For another, employing a motorcycle lawyer significantly increases the chance of a higher settlement.

Face it, lawyers are experienced in the system. They know the tactics used by insurance companies and fellow lawyers to avert successful settlements. For instance, it is not unusual for them to use mistaken prejudices against motorcyclists when settling a case.

Motorcycle lawyers are also know more grounds for asking for higher settlements. You may just be looking to cover doctor bills and motorcycle repairs. A savvy lawyer, however, will seek damages for things you may never have imagined, like loss of future wage earning capacity and pain and suffering. You could fight with insurance companies for months with little success and a lot of run around, but a lawyer with a 98.7% settlement success rate is going to handle the matter efficiently! That confidence is backed by a promise that no fees are required until a settlement is achieved.

Why add to your troubles after a California motorcycle accident? Instead of struggling through the settlement process yourself, why not turn matters over to a professional? You worry about healing and getting that bike back in running order! Leave the insurance and legal matters to an excellent motorcycle lawyer.

Motorcycle Attorneys Are the Best Help After an Accident

by Fabian Toulouse

As gas prices keep jumping steadily with no relief in sight and little hope of ever seeing cheap fuel again, more and more people are turning to motorcycles, planning to squeeze more miles into every gallon of gasoline. Indeed, motorcycles get far better mileage that do their bigger four-wheeled counterparts.

However, with the rise in motorcycle use comes a subsequent rise in the number of motorcycle crashes. Accidents involving motorcyclists are professionally handled by hiring motorcycle attorneys, personal injury lawyers who specialize in motorcycle law. It is smart to contact an attorney soon after an accident, as there may be a limited time for filing your case.

There are many rational reasons for choosing to hire a lawyer instead of trying to deal with the paperwork for your accident yourself. For one thing, dealing with insurance companies can be notoriously difficult. The paperwork can be a nightmare, and, unfortunately, undue prejudices against motorcyclists often come into play.

Another compelling reason to use an attorney who knows the laws regarding motorcycle accidents is that the settlement you receive is usually higher with a lawyer than if you manage your case on your own. Lawyers just know what to ask for! You may or may not be aware of all you are entitled to demand in a suit, and what insurance company is going to volunteer that information? A lawyer can get a better settlement than a layman nearly every time.

Sure, you might be able to handle things yourself, but who needs all that irritation after a dreadful event. Concentrate on recovering from your injuries, and leave the other business to a professional? With a proven motorcycle lawyer who asks for no fee unless and until your case is settled, what is there to lose? So if you have been in an accident, save your energy for getting better (and bike repair!) and leave the settlement battles to a professional.

Motorcycles: Still Getting Great Mileage

by Fabian Toulouse

Motorcycles have been a popular sort of transportation for at least a hundred years. The first motorcycle of any kind was devised in the United States in 1867 by a man named Sylvester Howard Roper, although it ran on by steam, not petroleum. As with early automobiles, it took German engineers to come up with a two-wheeled vehicle that would run on petroleum.

In 1885, Gottleib Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach designed what was in effect a motorized bicycle, but that was enough! By 1894, motorcycles were built for purchase by the public and the love affair began. In countries all over the world, people found motorcycles to be an efficient, cost-effective, and definitely enjoyable means of transportation.

With the unfortunate high cost of fuel, motorcycles are becoming even more popular, as they generally get significantly better gas mileage than larger vehicles. However, the rising number of accidents is not a good result. Motorcycles have always been involved in a lopsided number of crashes in comparison to the number of car accidents, and the injuries sustained tend to be worse. There are four times as many fatal motorcycle accidents as there are car accidents.

Therefore, it pays to wear a helmet, keep your bike well-maintained, to completely steer clear of drinking alcohol before riding, and to educate yourself on sharing the road safely. If, despite all your best efforts, you have a wreck, you need to know what to do. Getting the proper information from the other driver involved is critical, as is visiting a doctor, even if you feel perfectly fine. Reporting any accident to your insurance company is recommended, but as far as the hassle of handling your settlement is concerned, it is often wise to seek the help of a motorcycle lawyer.

Motorcycle lawyers know all the ins and outs of dealing with insurance companies and courts, and they can usually get a greater settlement for you. Best of all, when you hand over everything to a lawyer, you do not have to suffer the annoyances and red tape that go along with any accident settlement. With a lawyer who only charges a fee after the settlement of a case, it really makes good sense to let someone else fight for you.

Personal Injury Attorney: Handling Your Frustration

by Fabian Toulouse

Everyone always thinks accidents happen to somebody else, but if you have been in an accident involving a car, truck, or motorcycle, it pays to follow a few rational procedures. The parties involved should exchange critical information such as names, contact information, and insurance companies. Never leave the scene of even a negligible accident without doing this.

You should always be checked out by a physician immediately following any accident. Many people disregard this advice, but it is wise. Even if you feel fine, some injuries are not apparent to you at first, presenting problems down the line. It is better to be seen as a matter of course than to take chances and be sorry later.

Finally, it is a smart idea to visit a personal injury lawyer. These are attorneys who specialize in cases involving physical or psychological problems resulting from the fault of another person. The cause does not have to be calculated; inattention is often at the root of such injuries, especially in the case of vehicle accidents.

A personal injury attorney can perform a variety of requirement following an accident, including filing your claim, arguing your case in court-though most cases involving accidents are usually settled outside the courtroom-drawing up any necessary legal documents, and advising clients. While an attorney is not absolutely necessary in the event of an accident, it can truly make things easier, and consultations are often free. Even better, you can commonly find a lawyer who charges no fee unless your case is settled.

If you are a motorcyclist and the accident involved your bike, it is a savvy move to engage a personal injury attorney who has chosen to specialize in motorcycle law. That means he or she has a great deal of experience dealing with cases like yours. If you want to save yourself a lot of trouble (and likely receive a better settlement in the end) seek out a motorcycle attorney to take care of your case.

Get Better Gas Mileage — Add Just a Bit of Water!

by Ginger Coleen

Did you know that you’re driving a very poorly designed vehicle? Yes, you might have a car or truck with a lovely outside design, but it isn’t utilizing fuel very well. And, you aren’t going to get better gas mileage without some help!

About a quarter of the power in gasoline is used for actually moving your vehicle. The rest becomes heat, vibration, deposits, which wear down the engine, and emissions. In other words, about 75% of what you pay for fuel is wasted!

You’ve heard all the talk about hybrids and you may have seen one or two. However, they are still inefficient vehicles even with multiple sources of energy. They are more aerodynamic and sleeker, but many other vehicles are as well.

Hybrids are a good step forward if you can afford them, but there is so much experimentation going on right now. How do you know which hybrid to choose to ensure you get better gas mileage.

It is possible to use a conversion kit and convert your existing vehicle to an electric engine. There are several conversion kits available. However, they are expensive and there is a much more cost effective way.

The most inexpensive solution is to turn your vehicle into a water hybrid. Your engine remains as is but with a small conversion kit you can seriously improve your gas mileage using the hydrogen in water to raise the energy output. Not only is it possible, but it’s also relatively simple to do!

The cheapest and easiest hybrid system, you can actually build yourself, will decrease fuel consumption up to 50% or more. It’s also a technology that reduces pollution. And, your engine will be cleaned as it reduces corrosive internal buildup. Even old engines purr again after installing this solution.

Once you learn how to create the simple conversion add-on for your vehicle, not only will you get better gas mileage, but if you like making money, you can also earn a few hundred extra dollars a week helping others convert their vehicles. Customers are literally everywhere you go!

Learn how to create a device that utilizes a small amount of electricity from your car’s battery to create a gas from the hydrogen molecules in water called HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen). HHO, also referred to as Hydroxy or Hydrogen*Oxygen, provides much cleaner energy - and the end product is simply water!

Mobile Magazine stated that HHO provides the atomic power of hydrogen, while maintaining the chemical stability of water. Pound for pound HHO gas is three (3) times more powerful than gasoline! HHO is a rapidly growing trend for boosting performance and to increase gas mileage in your car or truck.

This is a suppressed technology that’s been simplified. It’s possible to purchase or build a very inexpensive and effective add-on unit today. When you do, you’ll also be allowed to copy the unit and you’ll get the documentation that shows you how! These devices are very easy to install and maintain. They work well on older/newer vehicles, light trucks, big rigs, boats and more and are good for carburetion/fuel injection, gas and diesel.
